YOU are the caretaker of yourself. Not just your body, but your life, your relationships, your health and all your creations. I challenge you all to embrace the ability that you HAVE to treat your body better. To rise above the hiccups that we all come across on our journeys and actively think and act in your body’s best interest. Think about the decisions you make. If you really don’t love your body then more than likely you are not treating it as the body that you want. Ultimately creating this body that you don’t like or want. Hence the vicious circle. We should all embrace our bodies, start to love our bodies and begin to actively be a custodian to our bodies. Here are a few tips that you may find helpful to start taking steps in the right direction to taking better care of you.
- Wear clothes that flatter your body type. All too often women are wearing clothes that make them feel uncomfortable, or fat. Make a commitment to wear clothes that fit, that flatter your body and that you feel comfortable in. And as you embark on your journey of better fitness and nutrition shop for new clothes that make you feel good about you.
- Eat your meals. All too often we shy away from eating for fear of gaining weight. This perception could not be more wrong. We need to nourish our bodies. We need to make healthy decisions with the foods we eat rather than not eating at all or skipping meals. Have a healthy relationship with food. Take the time to learn about food.
- Make Movement Fun. Do things you like to do. Whatever it is you like to do that makes you move, do it! Walks, Biking, Swimming, Zumba, etc. Listen to tunes that get you pumping. Wear a pedometer to keep track. Whatever does it for you.
- Love Your Body. You may not be exactly where you want to be physically but it does no good to hate your body. Embrace it. Nourish your mind and body with positive thoughts. Use words to say to yourself that don’t have that negativity. You are working toward a healthier you. Love yourself for making the right decisions. Praise yourself for achievements.
