The first, “Why HERE?” has a very SIMPLE explanation: Why did you choose US? At BAER Fit, we try very hard to give people multiple ways of discovering WHO we are and WHAT we stand for: an INTELLIGENT APPROACH TO FITNESS! Our newsletter, and its exposure to social media, is just one of many. We depend on our contacts to let us know what is working best!
The second question, “Why NOW?” is a lot more complicated. (My real basis for the question is to get my people to THINK!) Let me give you a synopsis of the answer I receive most often:
“WELL…I really need to lose some weight!
I can’t fit into the clothes I used to wear, and I’m miserable!
But I but I JUST WANT TO TONE!
I don’t really want to have all those HUGE muscles!”
What do you think? Have you EVER said something like this, even just to yourself? This is where I try to get a deeper understanding of what my clients really WANT…
and even more, what they are willing to COMMIT TO?
Let me share some facts (NOT just theories):
Most people are not “genetically inclined” to gain exceptionally large muscles (and those who are, have to work VERY hard for years to achieve that “muscularity.”)
To successfully lose body fat (the fluffy stuff that stretches the seams on your clothes) and TONE your body so that it fits in those designer jeans, you MUST gain lean tissue (the muscle that comes with strength training). Strong muscle has curves that follow their shape, and decreasing the fluff factor (with better nutrition) will show those curves at their best!
Adding muscle (remember curve, NOT huge) increases the efficiency of your body and its calorie burning engine, and actually increases the requirements for energy to keep it stoked. (If you like to EAT good food, you actually need to eat more of it because your metabolism is burning it off faster!) Strength trained muscle requires more energy, not only during your workout, but ALL DAY LONG! (I.e. you can eat more and still stay lean!)
