That being said I would like to stress the importance here of eating a HEALTHY breakfast. This does not mean a donut or cinnamon rolls that are heavy on the frosting. I’m talking nutritious, well balanced; I’m going to kick this day in the butt food!!! There have been many studies to support the benefits of a good breakfast. Here are a few.
- A more nutritionally balanced diet is higher in nutrients, vitamins and minerals which we could all use more of.
- A well balanced meal helps us mentally as well. We are better able to concentrate and perform in our daily activities.
- It provides us with more strength and endurance
- And it helps to lower cholesterol.
So instead of skipping breakfast, allow yourself some time to nourish your body and mind. Oats, berries, cottage cheese, eggs, smoothies, whole wheat toast, Yogurt, bananas, grapefruit, etc. are all perfectly nutritious items for breakfast. Make sure you get a nice balance of carbohydrates, proteins and fats to make it most beneficial for you. NO MORE SKIPPING!!!
