This week I am going to elaborate more on each of the things I talked about last week. ( the link to last week is here http://www.baerfit.com/1/post/2015/01/january-12th-2015.html) It’s all about having better health, a better life. So last week I opened with the notion that our attitudes have to change, not that we need more education about how to eat and exercise. But we do need better attitudes about how we live and that we want to live. Kimberley and I were at church again this morning at Washington Heights Baptist Church, and Pastor Dave once again spoke to my heart. And again it came down to attitudes for me.
Now it seems that what we all want is the answer to how to eat and exercise. There must be something better than real food, fresh and homemade food. And there has to be some kind of exercise I can do, you know 5 minutes a day, where I don’t sweat, that will fix my health and weight issues. Well, THERE ARE NONE! Nothing replaces right living.
There are, as I said last week, 22,500,000 Google results for diet pills, 29,700,000 results for diets, 14,900,000 results for fitness DVD’s, 11,730,000 results for fitness boot camps, 56,200,000 results for gyms, and so much more. With all of this information, we are still overweight, unhealthy and don’t do what we should. When I talk to / interview healthy people of all ages they all do the same thing. For exercise it ranges from walking daily to vigorous weight lifting. And they all eat real food, no fast food, no “cheat days”, I’ll talk more about “cheat days” next week, they cook and enjoy eating.
We all do know the right things to do when it comes to eating and exercise, or anything for that matter. When we do something wrong, we know we are doing something wrong. But we have become a society of easy fixes. Or we think we’ll start on Monday, the first of the month, New Years Day, or when things are better. Or we’re young and have plenty of time to do this, later. Then there’s the thought that nothing will ever happen to me. Well next week isn’t any different than this week, if you aren’t. Time keeps moving on, even if you don’t. And it will happen to all of us, if we don’t do the right thing now.
Start this week taking the first step in losing weight, getting healthier and having a better life. Get the right attitude. No diet pills, no network marketing products, no factory produced foods, and no quick fix exercise programs. If you don’t work at this, nothing will help. Even here at BAER Fit, no matter what we give you, teach you, help you with, none of it will work if you don’t do it.
Now get the right attitude…you want to live and live well, for a lot of years. Next week I’ll talk about food, nutrition, health, cheat days and how to make it easier to do, if you do!
